Abstract
Incomplete partition type III (IP-III) is characterized by a cochlea which has an interscalar septa but the modiolus is completely absent. This malformation is the type of anomaly present in X-linked deafness. IP-III is the rarest form of incomplete partition cases. Cochlear nerve is always present and therefore, auditory brainstem implantation is not indicated. They usually present with mixed hearing loss but stapedotomy should be avoided. Severe gusher is present in all cases during cochlear implantation. In spite of this fact, recurrent meningitis is very uncommon. In this chapter, radiological, audiological features, and surgical considerations of IP-III anomaly along with case presentations are provided.
