Abstract

In the interview with Simine Vazire, we discussed her early PhD experiences and the lessons she’s learned along the way. Simine tells us that much of her role is meetings, particularly with trainees. She has also had a variety of journal-related roles, from reviewer to editor-in-chief, and describes the related decisions as part of the peer-review process. Simine’s work to improve the field resulted in her co-founding the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS). Time management and mentoring are very much part of the job description at her career stage. Simine further provides a wealth of career advice for doing well in academia and shares her experience in moving between universities and internationally.
