Abstract

A central challenge of team coaching is that there are many interlinked problems in teams, which are not always openly communicated and whose solution is by no means easy because also structural factors (like team size or remuneration systems), which cannot be easily changed even by the team leader, often play a role. Successful cooperation in teams requires a complex, continuous management of the boundary- and self-regulation of team processes. Important starting points for this have been successfully identified by research in social and organizational psychology, so that in team coaching a wide range of diagnostic and intervention approaches can be used. This article gives an overview of the basic approaches.
