Abstract
Pediatric patients constitute a special group of patients that need special attendance. Although the time between birth and adulthood is only about one fourth of our life, it is the most crucial and determines the welfare of the individual for the rest of its life. In this chapter, we present these particularities indicating the appropriate way to approach a surgically ill child and his family taking into consideration the age and the developmental status of the patient. In addition we indicate the contents of a curriculum for the training of Pediatric Surgeons.
