Abstract

In clinical practice, endocrinologists well know the pivotal role that thyroid hormones exert upon metabolism. They face metabolic consequences of thyroid dysfunctions daily. Clinical scenarios based on patients of our outpatient clinic are described in clinical cases 1 and 2.

But in exceptional conditions, such as the recent SARS-CoV-2 pandemics, also a thyroid disease often misunderstood steals the limelight. We deal with this issue in clinical case 3.
