Abstract

Based on the investigation of 20 deaf college students’ learning behavior, this study found that they may encounter problems due to hearing impairment in attending lectures by hearing teachers. We also invited another group of hearing-impaired students to discuss the pain points found by the researchers from the perspective of the deaf. Based on the discussion, the invited students generated design solutions to pain points. The experimental results demonstrate these solutions can provide an important suggestion for the future product design for helping deaf students learning in the classes in which the hearing teacher is charged.
