Abstract
Coronoid fractures are often a part of extensive elbow trauma and persistent elbow instability can occur after a coronoid fracture. The decision to perform surgery is based less on fragment size and more on the impact on elbow joint stability. To lessen the impact on the elbow joint and to accelerate rehabilitation, arthroscopic repair is gaining popularity. Repair can be performed as an arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation (ARIF) or, when the fragment is too small, as an anterior capsulodesis. Good functional outcome has been reported with the arthroscopic fixation technique.
