Abstract
This chapter reviews the basics of ordering and interpreting computed tomography (CT) scans. Indications for ordering and normal anatomy are reviewed. Provides examples of the different brain compartments demonstrated through pictures of each form of intracerebral hemorrhage. Reviews findings on non-contrasted HCT that are concerning for hydrocephalus or herniation. Reviews the utility of CT and CT Angiogram (CTA) scanning in acute stroke, including examples.
