Abstract

Spinal and bone tuberculosis (TB) can mimic many other diseases that affect the bony skeleton. Diagnosis can be difficult and on occasion delayed which can lead to permanent disability and deformity. MRI is the imaging modality of choice and biopsy should be undertaken whenever possible with samples being sent for both histology and TB culture. In full sensitive disease, standard TB therapy is given for 6–12 months.
