The Challenge of Sustainability in Agricultural Systems

Abstract

The paper analyses and evaluates the main indicators of the socio-economic development of municipalities in the Russian Federation. The authors selected the transformation tools of indicators reflecting the main qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the socio-economic development of the municipal regions through the formation of a single assessment. In determining the strategic directions of the country’s development, increasing its competitiveness and attractiveness, an important role is given to the socio-economic development of its municipalities. In these conditions, the need to choose special tools to strengthen control over the effectiveness of the implementation of measures for the qualitative development of territorial entities is seen in a new way. The factors affecting the development of municipalities are systematized; their analysis is carried out, competitive advantages and problems for decision-making are determined, taking into account the capabilities of a particular municipal district.
