Abstract
This chapter gives a brief historical (ancient to modern) review of neurosurgical and anatomical approaches to the study of cranial sutures. The following periods in the history of medicine are cited: Mythological era, ancient Hellenic period, ancient American-African-Mediorient-Arabic studies, Medieval Europe, nineteenth century, Modern era.
