Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly and rapidly becoming a technology that empowers and reshapes our lives. Several industries and sectors that adopted AI have benefited from this technological advancement. One such sector is higher education, which can potentially receive the maximum benefits of AI revolution. However, the roles, benefits, and promises of AI in higher education institutions (HEIs) have not been sufficiently investigated and require further research. Therefore, this chapter, which has an extensive literature review, is conducted to reveal how HEIs have benefited from AI and must be met to prepare for such powerful technology. Results reveal that AI has high possibility to reshape HEIs in many ways; for this reason, HEIs must be prepared to benefit from its numerous advantages. Researchers and policymakers can use this study's findings in HEIs as a solid base for further investigation and crafting strategies.
