Abstract

Authors of the research present the method of assessing the safety of bus stops. The criteria for assessing safety were developed on the basis of a review of the literature on the safety of public transport stops and guidelines appearing in the standards for assessing stops in selected cities. The criteria were divided into three basic groups and 10 sub-groups, concerning: the bus stop area, the passenger area and the bus area. For the purposes of the assessment, a questionnaire has been prepared. It facilitates the data collection process that is carried out in the field. The chapter also presents the results of the assessment for selected bus stops. The conducted research allowed to verify the completeness of the performed measurements and the uniqueness of the defined evaluation criteria. On the basis of the conducted field research, final conclusions were developed that summarize the works presented in the chapter.
