Abstract
In treating complex cases, it is useful to have a team composed of psychotherapists experienced in the use of different techniques, so as to encourage multidisciplinarity and integration of the different procedures and techniques that modern psychotherapy offers us, in order to face each specific aspect of psychopathology. This chapter illustrates how to plan and develop integration with metacognitive interpersonal therapy (MIT) beginning with a distinction, consistent with other treatments, between strategic goals (the reduction of metacognitive dysfunction), procedures, and psychotherapy techniques. The structuring of assessment and the organization of a specialized center for the treatment of personality disorders is also described.
