Abstract
In this chapter, the historical struggle to establish the “Rule of Law’s” due process, human rights and governance, nationally and internationally is documented. After 9/11, Western interests in furthering territorial objectives especially the “War on Terror”, appropriated the “Rule of Law” as justification for its purpose demonstrating its protean usage. The decimation of the “Rule of Law” is evident in the Iraq invasion, the maltreatment of Iraqi detainees and the Wests’ refusal to acknowledge and respond to the plight of the Palestinians. Further subversion of the “Rule of Law” is witnessed in the West’s treatment of refugees and its complicity in the arms trade and killing elsewhere. The destructive force of absolute power and annihilation of the “Rule of Law” is evident in the laws of the Third Reich and its behemoth.
