Abstract

This paper investigates and clarifies the current situation of work efficiency improvement in business operations. From companies operating in Japan, authors extract cases based on company size. We consider the information systems used in their offices and sort out their strengths and weaknesses. In particular, we focus on the systems used by many companies for business communication. In addition, we also concentrate on basic tasks common to all companies, such as attendance records and approval requesting procedures for documents, and clarify issues and problems related to work efficiency. Based on the results, we analyze the requirements for further work efficiency improvement of the companies.
