Abstract

This chapter will introduce the basic skills needed for obtaining standard echocardiographic views that can be used in the prehospital and austere settings. It will review cardiac ultrasound indications, basic anatomy, normal ultrasound anatomy, image acquisition, and interpretation of key cardiac pathologies.
