Abstract
In Ecuador in recent years there has been a strong investment in the field of health, due to the increase of patients and medical specialties, along with a deficit in the handling and distribution of information due to lack of trained staff or little optimization and control of the technological resources, generating problems in the administration and assignment of medical appointments, being the waiting times in activations of medical appointments the main problem. Nowadays, health systems increasingly require more innovative processes that contribute to a better provision of services, being patients and all health center staff the direct and indirect beneficiaries respectively. For that it is necessary to have a centralized service, which allows us to have a friendlier and faster access to the information. Taking in account these scenarios, Information and Communications Technology arise as a way to solve all the previously described aspects and therefore this work has a purpose, which is to design and develop a Progressive Web Application for mobile devices which provides easy access and usability to patients as well as helping to improve the waiting times generated in the activation of medical appointments.
