Abstract
Different cytostatic agents are used in the OR in the context of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). These drugs are classified as hazardous and mutagenic substances. Thus, staff and patient safety should always be considered during HIPEC and guaranteed by legal regulations, institutional standard operating procedures, and consisting safety measures. The main object of all safety considerations is the avoidance of contamination.
