Abstract
This chapter is the first of four chapters of results on the study undertaken on 21st century curriculum’ policies and practices in Australia within the broad context of globalisation. It is based on document analysis. It presents the results that relate to the national (Australia) and State (WA) levels. It addresses only two sets of research questions, namely, those related to policy influences and those related to policy text production. The results are reported without reference to the literature. Rather, this occurs in Chap. 9, which presents and discusses a meta-analysis. Themes generated are illustrated with quotations from documents and participants’ voices. Pseudonyms are used for schools, and codes are used to identify both individuals and focus groups in order to protect their anonymity.
