Abstract
A 5-day-old, 3.5 kg female with tracheoesophageal fistula and esophageal atresia (TEF/EA) is scheduled for ligation of the fistula and direct anastomosis of the esophagus. She is on 2LPM NCO2 and has intercostal retractions. There is an oral tube/drain in place that is helping to drain oral secretions. Vital signs: SpO2 93%, BP = 85/50 mmHg, P = 120 bpm, R = 42/min, and T = 37° C. Hgb is 14 gm/dL.
