Abstract
Ovarian sclerosing stromal tumor is a benign neoplasm classified among the pure stromal tumors (along with ovarian fibroma, thecoma, Leydig cell tumor, and steroid cell tumor), which in turn belong to the family of sex cord-stromal tumors (which include pure sex cord tumors and mixed sex cord-stromal tumors).

GLI2: GLI family zinc finger 2 encodes a protein belonging to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein subclass of the Gli family, which includes transcription factors that bind DNA through zinc finger motifs. Gli family zinc finger proteins are mediators of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling and act as potent oncogenes in the embryonal carcinoma cell. GLI2 protein localizes to the cytoplasm and activates patched Drosophila homolog (PTCH) gene expression.
