Abstract
The word “donation” derives etymologically from the Latin donatio (giving, presenting). It refers to giving something gratuitously and freely (i.e., at no charge) to help someone else. In addition to it being a generous act, it often has some sort of interest, or feelings attached to it involving someone close to the donor.
