Abstract

The objective of this chapter is to emphasize the basic laryngeal anatomy and to illustrate various inflammatory and infectious diseases of the larynx. In the first part, the important anatomical aspects of both adult and pediatric larynx along with embryological development are discussed. In the later part, different infectious conditions of larynx with management options are explained. The chapter also covers inflammatory conditions following trauma, granulomatous and autoimmune diseases. The chapter concludes with the detailed review on subglottic stenosis.
