Abstract
Quality of healthcare has driven the restructuring of healthcare models as well as reimbursement. Ultrasound quality assessment must exist not only for those performing the exam, but also for the equipment and documentation of the study. Quality assessment should aim to provide exceptional and consistent levels of performance. Therefore, in order to provide consistent level of quality patient care, the need for objective standards and oversite is required. This chapter focuses on the quality assessment initiatives for the sonographer, equipment, and study documentation.
