Abstract
Food in philosophy. A possible definition for food may sound as follows: food is what every living being eats in order to fulfill its needs and desires. As food is a complex matter, this definition encompasses the multiple facets that concern food: hunger and nutrition, on one side, pleasure and gastronomy on the other. Food includes biological necessity, cultural preferences, personal taste and spiritual values.
