Abstract
Grasping concepts in medicine is the basis on which all further progress lies as it relates to training oral and maxillofacial surgeons. As surgeons, we must take into account the global concerns of a patient and not just their maxillofacial concerns. In this section, we cover the salient concepts as it relates to numerous pathological entities. In this section, we cover the basic pathophysiology concepts, treatment, and the anesthesia implications of various disease processes.
