Abstract
This chapter is structured so as to first introduce the reader with the position and purpose of education in the current global picture, with the special emphasis on the education policies in Europe. The second part of the chapter gives a brief overview of the main sociological perspectives of the education, so the reader can gain a better insight in paradigms used by the government in order to create own education system. A discussion follows on the ways how nations or interest groups create education outcomes with the goal to install and further sustain collective identities and collective memories to protect large groups, their stereotypes, and internal interests.
