Abstract

In the age of social transformations associated with changes in the environment, technical and communication capabilities, as well as moral attitudes, the problem of determining a value system, reference points for the transition to a new format of the information society arises. This is necessary for comprehending the new realities, understanding the laws governing the functioning of the socio-economic system, determining development goals, principles and management mechanisms. The purpose of this article is to offer the scientific community arguments for the formation of a value system in the context of economic and social changes associated with the widespread adoption of digital technologies. Based on these arguments, reasoning is built on the importance of knowledge in a new format of social relations, forming the conceptual basis for building a new economic paradigm. The article provides a conceptual and philosophical analysis of the concepts of “information” and “knowledge”, the prerequisites and prospects for the transition to digital economic models, using social and hierarchical approaches to the definition of the value concept. Information is considered as an intellectual resource for the formation of knowledge. Human intelligence transforms information into knowledge as a result of comprehension, systematization, structuring, interpretation.
