Abstract
Chronic pain causes psychological distress. Mind-based therapies, also known as mind-body therapies or psychological therapies, can play a role in chronic pain management and coping. These therapies utilize the mind as the primary effector of change in the body. There are various techniques ranging from relaxation, meditation, prayer, biofeedback, hypnosis, and more traditionally, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
