Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin resistant or methicillin sensitive) can cause a wide variety of skin infections, ranging from a mild cellulitis to necrotizing fasciitis. Since the emergence of community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA) in the 1990s, skin abscesses remain one of the most common cutaneous infections encountered in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.
