Abstract

Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is an inflammatory, noninfectious disease of children and adolescents. It is characterized by recurrent episodes of fever, pain, and swelling over affected bones. Radiographic findings may be similar to acute osteomyelitis, and histologic examination and culture of bone specimens may be helpful to establish the diagnosis. Treatment with antibiotics is ineffective.
