Abstract

This book was written to foster a progressive, translational science model for the development and evaluation of behavioral treatments for the prevention and management of chronic diseases. It is a guide to the science, strategies, methods, and processes that produce the data needed to close the gap between discovery and uptake in clinical practice.

“As the present now

Will later be past

The order is rapidly fadin’

And the first one now

Will later be last

For the times they are a-changin’”

Bob Dylan

The Times They Are A-Changin’, 1964
