Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the main challenges associated with the digitalization of Russian society taken in conjunction with the legal regulation of social relations. It has been substantiated that the opportunities provided by modern digital technologies fundamentally change the principles of the use of information, the criteria for determining its value, and, accordingly, the models of potential confidentiality threats. Therefore, the development of the national digital economy requires a review of Russian legislation with respect to the ability to influence new types of relations, refinements with account of the identified gaps in their legal definition, namely: new objects and subjects of informational legal relations, specific rights, duties, and responsibilities.
