Abstract
This chapter provides a succinct overview of debbie tucker green’s drama for stage, radio and television from Two Women (2000) to her most recent work ear for eye (2018). It reflects on scholarly debates within tucker green scholarship, teasing out key questions that are pertinent to how her work has been understood. The chapter articulates a primary concern of this volume, which is not only to emphasize the central importance of tucker green as a black woman playwright (along with how that identity permeates her work), but also to recognize and reflect the exciting range of responses to her work that move outside of questions of identity, including issues of neoliberalism, precarity, subjectivity and community. It also provides summary introductions to all the volume’s chapters.
