Abstract
School mediation, as a socio-educational intervention strategy, has deserved the attention of schools, as well as academia that seeks to recognize its advantages and potentials at the personal, interpersonal and organizational levels. With this article, one intends to present a study that starts from the following research question: How does conflict mediation in the school context emerge in studies in Educational Sciences published in the EBSCOhost and Scopus databases? This research followed the Cronin, Ryan and Coughlan Protocol (2008) and was performed using a systematic literature review supported by the webQDA® software, which allowed the construction of a more systematized conceptual framework on this theme. It has been found that mediation has been affirmed in the studies that analyze and evaluate, with scientific accuracy, the social phenomenon of conflict, the intervention methodology of mediation and the construction of a citizen coexistence, as socio-educational constructs of the school, that (still) seeks answers to deal with the challenges of “mass schooling” in increasingly multi-intercultural societies.
