Abstract
The study considers the essence of the digital economy; presents various approaches to the definition of the digital economy; highlights the problems of digitalization in Russia, the prospects of the digital coverage of all spheres in the Russian Federation, the digital economic development in Russia and its results. Russia with its scientific and intellectual capabilities, appropriate technologies has all the prerequisites for the further digital economic development. The study is devoted to widely discussed strategies of the digital economy and their influence on the increasing competitiveness and economic security of the country. The authors consider digital technologies in the economy, business, social sphere and public administration; present the results of the digital development strategy and the features of digitalization in Russia; carry out a comparative analysis of the contribution of the digital economy to Russia’s economic development compared with the countries that are considered leaders in this field; note the state of the digital economy and the level of its digitalization in Russia; identify the priorities for the digital economic development and how it strengthens the position of our country. The authors present the costs for implementing the digital development strategy and the sources for its financing.
