Pediatric Respiratory Diseases

Abstract

Imaging continues to play a major role in assessment of respiratory diseases in children. A broad spectrum of techniques are available today, starting with the chest x-ray—which is by far the most frequently used technique—but ultrasound, computerized tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging have expanded a lot over the years. They all have complementary uses, depending on the diagnostic hypothesis and the anatomical segment to be studied. A correct reading of any radiographic test should be submitted to the clinical picture.
