Abstract
Pneumomediastinum is defined. The differential diagnosis for this finding is populated, as well as the pathophysiologic basis for each. Imaging findings related to each differential diagnosis, including etiologic and complicating factors, are discussed. Radiologic signs are defined. Mimics and artifacts are included. Rare syndromes are introduced.
