Abstract

This chapter centers on the normal anatomy of the urinary tract. Basics regarding the appearance and normal measurements of the kidneys and ureters on ultrasound and cross-sectional imaging are discussed. Anatomic landmarks of the ureter’s course are highlighted as is normal anatomic variation in the case of the extrarenal pelvis. Common fluoroscopic studies for evaluation of urinary tract anatomy are also introduced.
