Abstract

Bariatric fellowship training is evolving from a time-based model to a competency-based model with promising early results in early pilot models. As payment models evolve into fee-for-performance models, understanding quality improvement measures and the technical proficiencies obtained in a competency-based curriculum model will be paramount in training bariatric fellows to provide best care for future patients.
