Robotic Assisted Hernia Repair

Abstract

This chapter describes the repair of parastomal hernia using the combination of a transversus abdominis release with principles of a Sugarbaker repair using a robotic platform that has been modified. This modification limits mesh exposure to intraabdominal viscera and provides a wide retromuscular space for implantation of the mesh. The typical Sugarbaker repair is also presented.
