Abstract

The endocrinology chapter reviews many of the disorders pediatricians encounter in their practice, including disorders of growth, puberty, calcium metabolism, adrenal gland, thyroid gland, pituitary gland, diabetes, and disorders of sexual differentiation. Background information is provided to aid in understanding the principles behind diagnosis and management. Additional Pearls and Pitfalls can be found at the end of the chapter.
