Abstract
This paper focuses on the effect of drill geometry and cutting parameters on the drilling of 4 shaft satin weave carbon fiber and epoxy matrix. Moreover, two different geometry of drilling tool are selected in this study. Surface quality was evaluated in terms of delamination and superficial defects. It was found that the increasing value of thrust force enhanced serious risk of delamination. The augmentation of thrust force is related to feed rate and drill geometry.
