Abstract
Rosacea is a common skin condition, of an unknown cause, that affects about 4–5% of the population. It is typically characterized by flushing and acneiform lesions. It is more common in women and can range from mild to disfiguring in severity. Treatments need to be targeted to the subtype and its main clinical manifestations. Exacerbations can also be related to certain behaviors like ingestion of warm beverages, spicy foods, temperature exposure, and exercise. Overall, it is a chronic condition that treatment is more directed at control than cure.
