Abstract
The surgical approach to repair of Ebstein anomaly, and in particular tricuspid valve repair or replacement, is via median sternotomy with aortic and bicaval cannulation. Routine preoperative imaging includes transthoracic echocardiography for valve analysis and evaluation of right and left ventricular function, and magnetic resonance imaging for right and left ventricular size and function. The importance of a thorough preoperative transthoracic echocardiogram to gauge the feasibility of tricuspid valve repair cannot be overemphasized. All views are important, but the four-chamber view is particularly helpful because it shows the following important anatomical features:
