Abstract

The replication of the art locations in which the values of tradition are reinterpreted in a contemporary key triggering a synergistic union between art and technology is a very current research topic that breathes new life into the commonly understood museum space. In this field of experimentation, following a sophisticated laser scanner and photogrammetric survey campaign, the idea was born for the Sistina Experience that is, the concept of itinerant multi-functional, multimedia replication of the Sistine Chapel: an architectural idea aimed at experimenting with new ways of enjoying, enhancing and gaining knowledge of the historical-artistic heritage. Sistina Experience it is a traveling architecture aimed at expanding and diversifying the museum experience both in terms of art perception and art education: an immersive exploration of a place of art that promotes innovative digital ways to educate in the knowledge of heritage in the age of “artertainment”.
