Abstract
Katherine Collace (c. 1635–1697), better known as Mistress Ross, was a memoirist, schoolmistress, and devout Calvinist who became heavily involved with the Scottish covenanter movement. Ross was asked to document her life and spiritual experiences for the benefit of others, prompting her to write her “Memoirs,” which were circulated in manuscript before being published in 1735. Ross was a moderate covenanter who remained steadfast in her support of Presbyterianism until her death in 1697.
