Abstract

Neoplasms of the renal pelvis and ureter constitute 8 % of all urinary tract tumors. The incidence is 0.7–1.1 per 100.000. Most of the tumors of the renal pelvis and ureter are epithelial in origin, and most of them are malignant. The classification of renal pelvis and ureter neoplasms is presented in Table 8.1. Peak incidence is in the 60–70-year age group, and the male/female ratio is 1.7:1 for all renal pelvis and ureter neoplasms and is about 3:1 for malignant tumors.
