Abstract
Esophageal atresia is a common congenital anomaly associated with esophageal and gastric dysmotility. The dysmotility may be caused by intrinsic factors and operative maneuvers. Adequate understanding of the esophageal dysfunction is mandatory in order to treat and ultimately prevent complications.
